Mission and Values
JCRC envisions a more just society by sustaining a strong and vibrant Jewish community in the United States and in Israel, and by enhancing that strength through collaboration with other communities.

Toward this end, JCRC's mission is to educate and advocate on issues of vital importance to the organized Jewish community based on consensus, civility and an expanded commitment to living Jewish values of social justice.

JCRC Core Values

The following values provide the foundation for JCRC's vision and inform the manner in which JCRC fulfills its mission:

Tikkun Olam, Repair of the World - Making the world a better place for those in need of assistance (children, the aged, the sick and hungry, and both Jews and non-Jews).

Darchei Shalom, Paths of Peace - Keeping peace with our neighbors through ongoing and effective inter-group relations, and continuing our deep commitment to promote mutual respect and foster understanding.

Tselem Elokim, All Created in God's Image - Assuring that equal opportunity exists for individuals regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or physical or mental disability.

Kol Yisrael Arevim Zeh La Zeh, All in the House of Israel are Responsible for One Another - Continuously organizing the Jewish community to come to the aid of Jews in need of support at home, in Israel, and around the world. Working toward a secure and vibrant Israel by promoting a strong America/Israel relationship based on the recognition of the State of Israel as the pluralistic, democratic, historical, cultural, religious, and national homeland of the Jewish people.

Lo Ta'amod Al Dam Rey'echa, Do Not Stand Idly By - Demonstrating on ongoing commitment to activism and mobilization of the Jewish community to ensure that our voice is heard on issues of vital importance.

Im Ayn Ani Li, Mi Li? Uch She'ani Le'atzmi Mah Ani? Ve Im Lo Achshav, AyMatai?, If I am Not For Myself, Who Will Be For Me? If I am Only For Myself, What Am I? And If Not Now, When? - Actively pursuing and advocating for Jewish community interests while working in concert with other faith, ethnic, and emerging communities to simultaneously pursue and advocate for issues of universal concern.

Democratic and Pluralistic Vigilance- Actively protecting our democratic freedoms and continuously celebrating our diverse society by helping to create an environment for people of all backgrounds to freely express their cultures and religion.

Building Consensus and Speaking with a Collective and Civil Voice - Serving as a facilitator of common understanding and civility, and a leader when vital interests are at stake. JCRC finds common ground among those with a broad range of religious affiliation, geography, and ideology by actively involving those with strongly held convictions in constructive dialogue.
